Verónica Raffo is a partner in FERRERE and participates actively in its management and strategic leadership. She has more than 25 years of experience advising a stellar list of global clients, managing highly complex cases with sensitive content with focus on corporate issues, dispute negotiation, compliance audits and corporate governance.
Raffo advises international corporations such as Uber, Mercado Libre, Globant, BASF, Sabre, Scotiabank, IBM, Nestlé, Microsoft, Despegar, H&M, Integer, Insigneo, Kemira and Katoen Natie, among others, and regularly works together with regional and international law firms.
She also leads the FERRERE Labor, Social Security and Migration practice area.
Raffo is also an authority in entrepreneurship and gender issues, both in Uruguay and internationally. She leads the FERRERE Diversity & Inclusion Committee, which promotes internal policies and campaigns to foster diversity and promote the growth of young women professionals. In this role she encouraged the firm’s being one of the first Uruguayan companies to sign the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) of UN Women.
Each year since 2019 she has been recognized as Uruguay’s most highly reputed woman business leader, according to the Corporate Reputation Business Monitor (MERCO), and by Latin Lawyer among the 50 most inspiring women in law in Latin America.
Since 2015 she has been director of the Employment and Industrial Relations Law Committee of the International Bar Association (IBA).
She was a member of the board for the Advancement of Women Lawyers project of the Vance Center for International Justice, and representative in Uruguay for Vital Voices (founded by Hillary Clinton). She is also chair of the board of Enseña Uruguay, an institution that promotes education in critical context areas.
She was one of the founders and the President of the Uruguayan Women Entrepreneurs Organization, OMEU, and in that context was a member of the Advisory Board of Más Emprendedoras, a program jointly executed by Fomin IDB and Endeavor, which promotes the development of woman-led enterprises.

She has published dozens of articles and has spoken at and moderated panels for local and international conferences organized by, among others, the International Bar Association, the European Union, the UN, IDB, Fomin, Vance Center, Endeavor and Uruguay XXI on subjects related to regulation, investment, business climate, labor market, gender and entrepreneurism.
She is an instructor in Board Management at the Graduate School of Business - EPN of Universidad ORT Uruguay and former professor of Universidad de la República (Uruguay).
In addition, in 2024 she was appointed as an independent member of the Board of Directors of Uruguayan-born fintech unicorn dLocal and was selected as one of the five uruguayan individuals on the top 500 most influential people in Latin America by Bloomberg Línea.
