Career

Employers trust Tracey, a former director of human resources and top-ranked employment litigator, to advise them on best practices related to employment law and other workplace matters.

Tracey is an experienced member of the firm’s Labor + Employment Practice Group. She counsels clients on workplace issues; provides harassment training; conducts internal investigations; drafts policies and procedures; negotiates employment and severance agreements; and advises on independent contractor, FMLA, and ADA compliance issues. She partners with clients to structure their workforce in the most efficient and effective way possible to help them achieve their business goals.

As part of her practice, Tracey has argued before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, state administrative agencies, as well as before federal and state courts. She handles matters in the enforcement or defense of noncompetition and nonsolicitation clauses, in addition to defending against discrimination and harassment claims. In the labor area, Tracey assists clients with negotiation of collective bargaining agreements and defense of grievances. An employment specialist, Tracey also advises companies on mergers and acquisitions.

Tracey is a member of the firm’s Food and Beverage and Cannabis Industry groups, and counsels clients in these industries on their unique labor and employment needs, including workplace counseling, as well as noncompete and labor union agreements.

Before joining the firm, Tracey was director of human resources and operations for a large nonprofit organization, where she was responsible for all human resources issues for more than 1,000 employees and contract administration for the agency’s union. She also was general counsel of a national retail optical company, where she oversaw the company’s employment law matters, negotiated commercial contracts, and managed the litigation docket. Tracey uses her prior experiences to better understand her clients and their challenges and help them achieve their business goals.

Tracey speaks and writes frequently about a multitude of employment law issues. She is the editor of the firm’s Hiring to Firing Law Blog, a go-to resource for all human resources and employment law issues affecting the workplace – from hiring to firing. Tracey is the founder, creator, and co-host of the firm’s Hiring to Firing Podcast, where she discusses hot-button labor and employment law issues with unique perspectives drawn from hit shows and movies. She has also made frequent media appearances, and has been quoted by media giants such as CBS, NY Times, and Bloomberg.

Tracey is a qualified mediator for the New Jersey Superior Court. She also served as an adjunct professor at Drexel University Kline School of Law.
