Career

Mr. Lan advises clients on cross-border M&A transactions and investments. He is particularly experienced in counseling Chinese companies in connection with their outbound investments across a wide spectrum of industry sectors, including oil and gas, minerals, and infrastructure. Over his 20 years of practice, Mr. Lan has served as lead counsel in numerous global transactions, including many of the largest and most complex outbound investments ever attempted by Chinese companies, the aggregate value of which is in the tens of billions of U.S. dollars. He also has significant experience advising foreign investors on their acquisition and divestiture of China operations. Before joining Han Kun, Mr. Lan spent over fourteen years as a partner at leading international law firms such as Sidley Austin LLP and White & Case LLP. He is recognized as one of the few highly reputable professionals consistently active in the fields of outbound investment and cross-border mergers and acquisitions.
