Mr. Yuan joined Han Kun Law Offices in early 2020 and leads the firm's tax practice. Before that, Mr. Yuan began his career as a tax practitioner in 2004 and has worked for two of the Big 4 accounting firms for more than 15 years. Mr. Yuan was an M&A tax partner with KPMG. In the area of PE/VC, Mr. Yuan implements tax optimizations throughout the whole PE/VC lifecycle, especially offering stable and predicted tax resolutions in ever-evolving tax regimes. In the area of M&A and capital markets, Mr. Yuan provides flexible, feasible tax arrangements, properly balancing between tax savings and compliance, to design transaction structures that can withstand potential challenges from investors and listing authorities. In the area of wealth management and stock option incentives, Mr. Yuan has expertise in designing focused tax arrangements for different participants in light of their particular individual needs, appropriately considering both tax savings considerations and asset security needs.
