Richard is a litigator specialising in complex, international legal disputes, predominantly in the aviation sector. Examples include aircraft and engine finance and repossession, lease and charter, maintenance, regulatory investigations, insurance claims and fraud. He also works on general commercial matters, specialising in fraud, asset recovery and business protection litigation, as well as corporate commercial litigation and arbitration, banking and regulatory investigations.

Richard has a highly commercial approach to his clients, really getting under the skin of their business to provide commercially strategic and creative solutions to difficult situations.

Richard joined REN Legal as a partner in 2019. He trained and qualified at CMS Cameron McKenna in 1996, and later led the Dispute Resolution team and the Aviation team as a partner at asb Law (2003-2013) . Prior to joining REN, Richard was a partner at Stevens & Bolton LLP (2013-2019) where he led the Aviation practice and served as head of the Commercial Litigation team.

Richard was admitted as a solicitor of England and Wales in 1996. He served as Chairman of BACA -The Air Charter Association (2016-2019), is a Fellow of the RAeS and a member of ISTAT, ERA and the Aviation Club.
