Lucy advises across the full range of contentious construction, engineering and projects matters. This includes in relation to issues of valuation, payment, deductions, delay, disruption, defects, termination and suspension. Lucy advises on both bespoke and standard form contracts (including JCT, NEC, ICC, FIDIC, LOGIC and IChemE) and has particular expertise in the energy and infrastructure sectors and PFI/PPP projects.

Experience

• Acting for an energy provider in a EUR 35 million+ LCIA final account arbitration relating to the design and construction of an offshore wind farm

• Acting for authorities, project companies, contractors and service providers in respect of a range of contentious PFI matters, including matters related to defects, performance, contract interpretation and deductions

• Advising on a number of rail disputes including claims for defects, variations and delay under framework agreements and stand-alone contracts for works

• Advising a global leader in power source technology in a USD 50m+ dispute arising out of delays to completion of a multi-fuel combustion engine power plant

• Acting for a global oil & gas company in relation to various disputes regarding onshore and offshore installations

• Conducting a series of adjudications arising out of the design and construction of an energy-from-waste plant on matters concerning variation and delay

• Acting for the EPC contractor in relation to a termination dispute arising out of the design and construction of a new process plant

• Advising on number of projects on matters concerning fire safety
