Mátyás is a Senior Associate in the Dispute Resolution team of Bird & Bird's Budapest office. He offers expertise in dispute resolution, tax and competition law matters.

As a former competitive fencer, Mátyás learned that passion and hard work always pay off – regardless of if you are on the piste, behind your desk, or in a courtroom. A dedication to the principles of mutual respect and decency, which he also learned from fencing, helps him to work effectively with his colleagues and to offer clients a distinguished service.

During the past few years, Mátyás has developed extensive experience in commercial, tax and competition litigation, claims for damages, domestic and international commercial arbitration, as well as alternative dispute resolution proceedings.

In addition, he has a keen interest in tax law. He has also gained experience in the European and Hungarian value added tax system and the double tax treaties of Hungary.
