Peter is a partner and head of the international Public Procurement group in Denmark. Besides being one of Denmark's leading public procurement law specialists, he is co-head of the Copenhagen office and the international Public Procurement group.
As head of the Public Procurement group in Denmark, Peter manages the department and team structure to ensure the right lawyers are in place to meet clients' needs. He is convinced that having the right team with the right people is the best way to achieve success and attain sustainable solutions for clients. His role as co-head of the international Public Procurement group provides him with an extensive international network of skilled procurement lawyers from different jurisdictions.
Efficient public procurement is key to facilitating government investments in infrastructure, health, education, and other public services, making it central to government efforts to improve living standards. Peter is motivated by contributing to the improvement of these government investments by setting up the right team of public procurement specialists and serving as a trusted adviser.
Project management is crucial to client service, and over the years, Peter has been involved in and coordinated numerous multi-jurisdictional and complex procurements for both governments and companies. For over a decade, he has advised on public procurement rules, public sector agreements, and related areas of law in healthcare, construction, and IT. He also assists public contracting entities and companies in the utilities sector and provides guidance on the preparation of tenders.
Throughout his career, Peter has gained considerable experience working with politically controlled organisations. His work includes advising public clients as a project leader in connection with public procedures for complex IT acquisitions, construction projects, and framework agreements for procurement associations. In addition to his role as a legal adviser, he is a certified professional SCRUM master and has advised on the use of agile IT contracts on several occasions.
As part of his role, Peter is committed to simplifying public procurement and ensuring that public procurement rules are applied in a commercially advantageous manner. He provides advice on procurement strategy, the implementation of market dialogue before a public tender, drafting competition documents (including contracts and contract conditions), legal quality assurance of requirement specifications, negotiations, and external and internal contract management.
Peter has extensive experience handling cases before the Complaints Board for Public Procurement. He frequently speaks at seminars, conducts training sessions on public procurement, and has co-authored several publications, including books on procurement law.
Driven by his passion for procurement law, Peter is also the co-founder of the Danish Association for Procurement Law and serves as chairman of the board.
