Mr. Yang has been practicing as a lawyer since September 2007 and he joined JunHe’s Beijing office as a partner in May 2018. Previously, Mr. Yang worked at king&wood Mallesons as a partner.
Mr. Yang specializes in the areas of bankruptcy and restructuring related practices and has vast experience in areas such as bankruptcy and reorganization, out-of-court debt restructuring, distressed M&A, disposal of non-performing assets and cross-border bankruptcy. He has acted as an administrator (a member of a liquidation group) counsel for creditors and creditors’ committees, debtor’s counsel, reorganization investor’s counsel and other roles. Mr. Yang has also provided legal services in bankruptcy and restructuring projects where the debtors have included listed companies, large SOEs, private group companies and Sino-foreign joint ventures. He has experience in various sectors including the finance, real estate, steel, PV, textile, chemistry and medical industries. Mr. Yang has led many cases of influence such as the recently closed case regarding the reorganization of Dongbei Special Steel Group Co., Ltd. He acted as a member of the administrator and the on-site supervisor, and this was included as a sample case in the Report on the Work of the Supreme People's Court.
Mr. Yang is one of the few Chinese lawyers who have experience in the disposal of financial institution-related risks. He has participated in administrative liquidation and bankruptcy cases involving Xinhua Securities, China Eagle Securities, Hantang Securities, Minfa Securities and other risk-based financial institutions and has practical experience and an in-depth understanding of the disposal of financial institution-related risks.
Mr. Yang is a member of the Chinese Bar and is qualified to act as an independent director of a listed company.
