Anthony Zhao

Anthony Zhao specializes in providing legal services in the areas of private equity/venture capital investments, capital markets and corporate/M&A, with particular expertise in advising on complex transactions involving both offshore and onshore elements. His practice covers a broad range of industrial sectors in China, with a strong focus on the new economy, high-tech and innovative sectors.

As a witness of the development of China’s private equity market and digital/intelligent industry from scratch, Anthony has advised on many landmark transactions in these areas. He has been consistently recognized by major international institutions as a top Asian law practitioner in all of his major practice areas. He was awarded by All China Lawyers Association as a “National Leading Lawyer” and honored by Shanghai Bar Association as an “Orient’s Best Lawyer”.

Anthony acts as the Chairman of the Management Committee of Zhong Lun Law Firm. He is a member of the 14th CPPCC Shanghai Committee and the Deputy Director of its Committee on Social and Legal Affairs.
