Joe Wetzel is a first-chair trial lawyer who focuses on cutting-edge music and software copyright issues, representing clients from emerging companies to the biggest household names. For almost two decades, Mr. Wetzel has represented clients at the trial and appellate levels in a variety of complex litigation matters. His litigation matters have shaped industries and helped to define the application of US Copyright law to modern technologies. He also regularly counsels clients on copyright and licensing issues associated with various forms of media.

Career

Mr. Wetzel serves on the Board of Directors of Chapter 510 & the Department of Make Believe, a youth writing and publishing center serving students in Oakland. He has taught Music Law at the UC Berkeley School of Law and has guest lectured in a range of internet and copyright law classes at the Bay Area’s top law schools.
