Career

Haining specializes in IP litigation, covering disputes in relation to patents, trade secret, trademark, copyright and unfair competition. Haining has litigated on behalf of renowned multinational clients in various industry sectors, including semiconductor, computer engineering, telecommunication, life sciences, sports and entertainment. Haining recently also represented his clients in multiple Standard Essential Patent (SEP) related disputes in Cellular, Wi-Fi and HEVC technical fields. Before joining Han Kun, Haining was partner at Jun He LLP for 2 years and Fang Da Partners for 5 years.

• Representing Skyworks Inc. to defend patent infringement lawsuit against a Chinese competitor before Shenzhen Intermediate Court

• Representing NBA to enforce copyright against unlicensed streaming platforms and individuals, and successfully obtained a preliminary injunction

• Representing Jade Bird Display in a trade secret action against an ex-employee before Shanghai Intellectual Property Court, and successfully obtained a preliminary injunction

• Representing Texas Instruments to enforce IP rights against ex-employees and copycat start-ups

• Representing Biocyte to enforce IP rights against Chinese counterfeit makers and sellers by criminal, administrative and/or civil actions.

• Advised BYD in multiple cross jurisdictional SEP lawsuits and negotiation with SEP holders.

• Advised Aptos in Chinese legal matters against trademark squatter.

• Represented A. O. Smith in trade secret and patent ownership disputes competition litigation against ex-employees before Nanjing Intermediate Court, successfully obtained punitive damages and injunction

• Represented Amazon in multiple SEP patent invalidation and patent infringement against Huawei before Suzhou Intermediate IP Ct.

• Represented Intel to successfully defend the patent infringement lawsuit filed by VLSI before Shenzhen Intermediate Ct.
