David Tang

David has over 20 years of experience in international trade, customs, trade controls. He receives many world ranking honors, such as Chambers, Legal 500, Who’s Who Legal, and Asia Law. Chambers review commented he is "very thoughtful and a great strategic thinker." In the recent “Acritas Stars” nominated by Acritas (a subsidiary of Thomson Reuters), he received the comment as "He is very experienced in the field of compliance, especially compliance regarding US import and export controls and economic sanctions."

David is one of the very few practitioners in China who has deep understanding and extensive experience in economic sanctions and export controls. He advices multinational clients on Chinese sanctions and export controls. In recent years he has helped many Chinese companies to develop their compliance programs for coping with U.S. sanctions and export controls, and assisted clients in assessing sanctions/export controls risks for their business involving sanctioned countries or restricted parties. He also represents many U.S. companies in internal trade compliance audits, end user due diligence and verification. Clients often seek for his very unique investigation and auditing expertise in finding and compiling facts for the purposes of internal investigations and government investigations related to FCPA and trade sanctions and export controls.

He also has profound experience and is a world-recognized leading practitioners in China with respect to international trade remedies (i.e. antidumping, counterveiling duties, safeguards) related to imports to U.S., EU, and PRC. His practice also covers the full spectrum of customs matters, including classification, valuation, country of origin, duty assessment, VAT refund, free trade zones and bonded warehouses, import and export licensing, customs audits, as well as criminal smuggling investigations.
