Cynthia is a leading adviser on insurance regulatory matters, focusing on transformative transactions such as demutualizations, mergers and acquisitions, mutual holding company conversions and other restructurings that involve senior executives and Boards of Directors. She also advises clients on corporate governance, legislation, examinations and enforcement matters, compliance, investments, receiverships and insolvencies, artificial intelligence, and other issues.

For more than 35 years, Cynthia has counseled insurance clients in the US and internationally, including life insurance and annuities, property/casualty insurance and reinsurance companies. She has worked with Fortune 500 companies, investment bankers, actuaries, strategic and financial investors, brokers, trade associations, state Commissioners of Insurance, Attorneys General, and other law firms. Her insurance clients have included public companies, mutuals, mutual holding companies, fraternals, reciprocals, and the Lloyd's market. She has authored books and articles and presented at conferences from London to New York to Tokyo on insurance industry issues.

Cynthia was the first woman and second lawyer in private practice in the 100-year history of the Association of Life Insurance Counsel to receive its prestigious Buist M. Anderson Distinguished Service Award for service to the life insurance bar and industry. In 2018, she was inducted into the Tulane Law School Hall of Fame. Most recently, Cynthia was named a finalist in the “Private Practice – Diversity & Inclusion: Outstanding Contribution” category as part of Chambers’ 2023 DEI awards.
