Alessandro advises companies on EU and Italian competition law, including cartels, restrictive practice, merger control and abuse of dominance. He represents companies in proceedings before the Italian Competition Authority and the EU Commission and, on appeal, before the Italian administrative courts and EU Courts, respectively. He also represents companies before civil courts in antitrust private enforcement cases.
Alessandro has accrued significant experience in consumer protection, advising companies on unfair commercial practices according to the Italian Consumer Code (including in proceedings before the Italian Competition Authority).
His expertise also includes assistance in connection with the Italian foreign investment control regime (so-called “golden power” regime) and day-to-day antitrust assistance (antitrust compliance programs, vertical restraints, commercial agreements, etc.).
Alessandro received his Law Degree (J.D.), with honours (magna cum laude), from Università degli Studi di Roma “La Sapienza” in 2005. He received an LL.M. degree in “European Business Law” from the Universiteit Leiden, The Netherlands, in 2006, and an LL.M. degree from the New York University School of Law in 2014. He is admitted to the Rome Bar Association and to practice before the Italian Supreme Court.
