Zdeněk Kučera

Zdeněk Kučera is partner at Dentons' Prague office and Head of the local TMT practice. He has over 15 years of experience in ICT law, corporate and commercial law, and dispute resolution.

His expertise in ICT law encompasses the structuring of complex projects, IT company acquisitions, software law, digitalization of processes, regulation of new technologies, personal data protection, intellectual property law, cybersecurity and media law. Additionally, he provides clients with guidance on the implementation of AI.

He is an expert on new digital legislation, including the Digital Services Act (DSA), the Digital Markets Act (DMA), the Personal Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Data Governance Act, the AI Act and the NIS2 Directive.

Furthermore, Zdeněk represents clients in a range of disputes at courts or arbitration courts, including cases in the technology, automotive, or retail sectors, and those involving the public sector. He has assisted clients in the resolving of disputes pertaining to data, unfair competition, defamation, copyright and database law, and shareholders' disputes. Clients hold him in high regard for his ability to devise innovative strategies. He has also expanded his expertise to include class action strategy design.

He also represents clients in administrative proceedings, including those before the Trade Inspection, Cybersecurity Office, Office for the Protection of Competition (procurement disputes), and the Data Protection Authority.

Zdeněk is involved in various government initiatives and heads the Centre for Law, Technology and Digitalization at the Faculty of Law, Charles University in Prague.
