Simon Gauthier

Simon Gauthier is a partner and co-lead of the Corporate/Commercial group in the Montréal office. He also leads the office’s M&A practice group. He advises clients in a wide range of commercial transactions, with a focus on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity, project financing and development, and complex real estate transactions. He has led important transactions in various sectors and industries, including construction and civil engineering, technology, media and telecommunications (TMT), manufacturing, forestry and agribusiness.

Simon also advises clients on issues relating to corporate governance, business strategies, regulatory compliance, and laws governing their activities. Simon regularly advises foreign clients establishing or acquiring a business in Canada and guides them through the particularities of doing business in Québec. In the course of his practice, Simon also deals with issues relating to the sale and distribution of alcohol products (including marketing and advertising, regulatory compliance, retail, distribution agreements and permits).
