Jon Ryder

Jon is a partner in Dentons’ Commercial Real Estate and Development group. Based in Calgary, he has extensive experience in municipal planning and development, residential and industrial development, land use, leasing as well as commercial, industrial and office transactions. He regularly appears before the Calgary Planning Commission, Calgary City Council, and the Subdivision and Appeal Board (SDAB) on behalf of his prestigious clients, who include local and national developers of large residential, commercial and retail projects.

Jon has a deep understanding of the intricacies involved at every stage of real estate development, from land-use approvals and risk avoidance through to construction and lease-up. His entrepreneurial nature, strong negotiating skills, and broad depth of business experience ensures he delivers a practical approach to his clients’ real estate matters. Jon promotes these qualities in his role as a supportive mentor to Dentons’ junior lawyers and articling students.
