Sijbren is pension law specialist. He represents a large number of pension funds and pension service providers. He also advises Dutch and foreign companies on pension matters. Sijbren has extensive experience in the field of pension asset transfers, liquidations of pension funds, outsourcing, changes and de-risking of pension schemes, works councils aspects of pensions, exemption of sector wide pension funds, regulatory pension issues. He also litigates on pension matters (including the liability of pension providers).

Before he began work as a lawyer at Van Doorne, Sijbren worked at a number of universities, at a bank/insurance company and at a financial markets regulator.
