Sarah Beeston heads the European & Competition Law team of Van Doorne. She divides her time between advisory and procedural work. She advises national and international clients on compliance with antitrust, abuse of dominance and state aid rules in the context of transactions, strategic alliances and their daily business. She thus helps clients to achieve their commercial goals within the limits defined by the competition rules. Sarah also represents clients’ interests before competition authorities and in court, including in the context of mulitparty (follow-on) damages claims based on a breach of competition law.
Sarah is innovative and seeks solutions. She obtained the first commitment decision and first settlement decision (excluding the construction industry settlement ) taken by the Dutch competition authority. She has successfully settled a number of international damages claims. She is also one of the founders of the Association for Compliance in the Healthcare Sector and is active in the healthcare and life science sector.
Sarah began her career with the European Commission and entered private practice in 1990. Her international experience in London, Brussels, Paris and the Netherlands adds a dimension to her approach, which is highly valued by clients.
