Diederik Maessen

Diederik is a partner in Van Doorne’s Corporate and Projects groups, with a focus on the energy and infrastructure sectors. He has over 17 years of experience in M&A transactions, project development and complex energy and infrastructure contracts.

Diederik has advised on range of oil and gas, LNG, solar, (offshore and onshore) wind, CC(U)S, hydrogen, (battery) storage, nuclear, ports & terminals, data centres and chemicals transactions and projects. His clients include leading industrial parties, developers, sponsors, funds and state-owned enterprises.

Diederik has been involved in the development of many first of their kind projects, such as the first large scale CC(U)S project in the EU (the Porthos project), the first liquid Co2 import terminal (the CO2next project), the first European national hydrogen backbone (by Hynetwork Services), an LNG terminal developed in record breaking time (the EemsEnergy LNG terminal) and the first new Dutch nuclear reactor in decades (the PALLAS project).
