Scott is a partner in the firm’s Labor & Employment, Business Litigation, and Life Sciences practice groups. He advises employers on and litigates all aspects of labor and employment law wherever the issue may arise. His national employment practice includes, but is not limited to, counseling on and litigation of claims involving alleged employment discrimination, wrongful discharge, harassment, unlawful whistleblower retaliation, noncompete agreements, breach of contracts, compliance with the National Labor Relations Act including negotiation, interpretation, and alleged breach of collective bargaining agreements and unfair labor practice charges, wage and hour compliance issues involving the Fair Labor Standards Act and applicable state statutes, compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act, compliance with U.S. Department of Transportation regulations, compliance with the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, alleged wrongful death and serious injury torts by employees and contractors, state unemployment tax liability, workers’ compensation, disability and leave issues.

He counsels employers on employment investigations, terminations, employment handbooks and written policies, benefits, insurance, unions, employment and independent contractor agreements, employment-related issues involving artificial intelligence, alleged misappropriation of trade secrets and intellectual property.

Scott serves as a trusted partner for clients where he coordinates the delivery of multidisciplinary legal services covering virtually all areas of need for a business. He assists clients with meeting regulatory compliance obligations involving federal, state, and international laws involving a variety of business issues. This includes, but is not limited to, distribution of products, sales, corporate, business services and contracts, privacy and security, and employment. Scott also advises clients on and litigates issues involving business contracts, torts, intellectual property, general liability, tax, sales, unfair competition and international law.

Scott’s successful litigation experience includes single-party, multiparty, collective and class actions. He has successfully represented clients before trial and appellate courts, winning on dispositive motions and also prevailing for clients at jury trials, bench trials, administrative and arbitration hearings around the country. His experience includes representing clients before state and federal courts, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and related state agencies, National Labor Relations Board, Occupational Safety and Health Commission and related state agencies, Mine Safety and Health Review Commission, Ohio Civil Rights Commission and other similar state agencies, Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, Industrial Commission of Ohio, American Arbitration Association, U.S. Chemical Safety Board, among other forums.

Scott represents clients, which range from small to Fortune 500 size companies, involved in retail, manufacturing, health care, life sciences, distribution, cosmetics, energy, electric utility, logistics, transportation, beverages, food services, environmental services, artificial intelligence, automotive, general merchandise, construction, technology, chemicals, banking, pharmaceutical development, real estate, aerospace, workforce solutions, staffing, printing and packaging, steel, agriculture, and insurance, among others. These clients are based throughout the world.
