Originally from Puerto Rico, Glianny is a powerhouse partner in the Labor & Employment practice group. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez before earning her law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law. A dynamic force in employment law, Glianny focuses her practice on partnering with clients to design and implement workplace policies and practices that are not just compliant with the law, but that drive business success and protect company culture. Her extensive experience as a high-stakes employment and business litigator has given her a deep appreciation of both the value and the cost of human capital. As a result, Glianny’s employment law advice is strategically designed to maximize returns while minimizing risk.
Glianny routinely counsels national employers on a multitude of complex workplace issues, including wage and hour compliance, worker classification, religious and disability accommodations, joint employer/single enterprise liability, discipline, terminations, reductions in force, executive employment agreements and background checks. She defends companies in high-stakes litigation involving restrictive covenants violations, discrimination, collective FLSA/wage claims, contractual breaches, fraud, consumer disputes, professional liability and product liability. Her industry experience is extensive, spanning health care, restaurants and hospitality, retail, professional services, transportation and logistics, and media/entertainment. With her commanding presence and exceptional public speaking abilities, Glianny frequently provides training and addresses management and trade groups on legal developments and best practices. She is a member of the Law360 Georgia Editorial Board and a contributing author of BLR’s annual publication 50 Employment Laws in 50 States and the Georgia Employment Law Letter.
Beyond her legal practice, Glianny is a recognized business and community leader in the state of Georgia. She was one of the driving forces behind the incorporation of the city of Brookhaven, demonstrating her commitment to civic engagement and community building. Glianny currently serves on the state of Georgia’s Personnel Board, a distinguished appointment she has received from two separate governors. She also serves on the board of Park Pride, Inc., a nonprofit that provides programs and leadership to help communities realize their dreams for neighborhood parks, and on Decide DeKalb, DeKalb County’s Development Authority. Her extensive nonprofit leadership includes serving as president and chairperson of the Georgia Hispanic Bar Association and on the boards of CredAbility Inc. and the Latin American Chamber of Commerce. Glianny’s blend of legal acumen, business insight, and dedication to community service makes her an invaluable advocate for clients navigating the complexities of employment law.
