SCOTT STEIN represents clients in high-stakes civil cases, including antitrust, class actions, and other complex commercial disputes. A significant focus of Scott’s practice involves representing clients in the life sciences and healthcare industries in both government investigations and litigation arising under the False Claims Act (FCA). Scott is ranked by Chambers USA (2022–2023) for the False Claims Act – USA – Nationwide category (Band 2), serves as the Chief Editor of Sidley’s False Claims Act blog, and is a frequent author and presenter on pressing FCA topics. In addition, he regularly serves as an advisor to in-house counsel and serves as outside general counsel of a medical professional society. Scott also works on a variety of pro bono matters, and was awarded the 2022 Excellence in Pro Bono and Public Interest Service Award by United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
