IRENE YANG, co-head of the firm’s IP Litigation practice, is a partner in Sidley’s San Francisco and Palo Alto offices. She focuses on patent and other IP litigation in the high tech and life sciences industries and has represented clients in cases involving networking and telecommunications, semiconductors, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and consumer devices, among others, as well as cases involving FRAND obligations for standard-essential patents. Irene’s practice includes litigation over breach of contract claims, business torts, antitrust claims, trademark and trade dress infringement, trade secret claims, veterans’ benefits, and immigration proceedings. Her practice spans the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, District Courts around the country, the International Trade Commission, California state courts, and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

Irene has obtained significant jury trial victories, led litigations that achieved wins prior to trial, and been regularly called upon by clients to supplement case teams as they approach dispositive motions and trial. She also serves as a court-appointed mediator for the Northern District of California.
