Sara B. Brody

SARA BRODY is a trial lawyer whose practice focuses on securities litigation and corporate governance disputes. She is co-chair of the firm’s Securities and Shareholder Litigation practice group and heads the Northern California litigation practice. She has deep experience defending companies and their officers and directors in securities and derivative litigation in state and federal courts throughout the United States. Her clients include established and emerging technology and life science companies. This past year Ms. Brody was lead trial counsel successfully defending the chair of special committee at trial in Delaware Chancery Court. Additionally, Ms. Brody regularly represents companies and individuals in matters before the Securities and Exchange Commission. She also has extensive experience conducting internal investigations and counseling clients on governance and disclosure issues.

Ms. Brody is on the editorial board of Sidley’s Enhanced Scrutiny blog, which provides timely updates and thoughtful analysis on M&A and corporate governance matters from the Delaware courts. She is an author of Sidley’s Annual Survey of Securities Litigation in the Life Sciences Sector. Ms. Brody is also a founding member of the Women in Securities network and an active participant in the Women’s White Collar Defense Association.
