Nick is an accomplished commercial litigator and trusted advisor with more than two decades of experience guiding clients through complex disputes. A key member of Mintz’s nationally Chambers-ranked Insurance & Reinsurance Practice, Nick represents insurance carriers, reinsurers, and brokers in high-stakes litigation involving coverage disputes under commercial general liability, directors and officers, professional liability, property, and excess policies. He also defends carriers against claims of unfair trade practices and bad faith, and serves as national coverage counsel for emerging risks.

Nick has litigated insurance and reinsurance matters in state, federal, and bankruptcy courts, and has represented clients in arbitrations nationwide. He is ranked by Chambers USA for his work in insurance law, recognized for his deep expertise and strategic counsel.

In addition to his insurance work, Nick is a member of Mintz’s Real Estate Litigation Practice, where he advises clients on zoning, subdivision, affordable housing, lease disputes, and environmental matters. His environmental litigation experience includes wetlands, waterways, coastal zone management, and air pollution control. He has successfully defended permits before the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection’s Office of Appeals and Dispute Resolution and prevailed in appeals before the Massachusetts Land Court, Superior Court, Appeals Court, and Supreme Judicial Court.

Earlier in his career at Mintz, Nick served as a special assistant district attorney with the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, where he prosecuted a range of criminal cases and conducted multiple jury trials.
