Michelle has dealt with numerous high-profile custodial deaths, advising on a diverse range of issues. Recent examples include the adequacy of suicide and self-harm prevention policies, risk assessments and the manslaughter of a cellmate.

Michelle also defends employers and public liability claims across the prison estate. Her work includes claims of assault, false imprisonment, misfeasance in the public office, breaches of human rights, and negligence.
