Michael has successfully represented companies in a diverse array of energy and complex litigation matters. He represents clients in all phases of litigation, from contested cases before administrative agencies, to state and federal district courts and courts of appeal, and through bankruptcy. Recent matters involved representing an electric cooperative in a high stakes bankruptcy adversary proceeding, defending against dormant Commerce Clause and Contracts Clause challenges to state utility legislation, which he argued before the 5th Circuit, and obtaining a writ of mandamus to permit the energization of a $300 million transmission line in South Texas.
Michael also provides counsel on energy regulatory and compliance matters, primarily concerning the electric and natural gas industries.
