Melissa Miles advises major corporations from a wide range of industries on matters relating to government affairs at the federal, state and local levels. Having practiced political law for more than 25 years at Skadden, Ms. Miles advises clients on anti-corruption, campaign finance, pay-to-play, lobbying, gifts and entertainment and conflict-of-interest laws. She also counsels clients on establishing and maintaining comprehensive policies and systems to ensure compliance with those laws, including advising on the requirements and restrictions on PAC giving at the federal level and in all 50 states.
Ms. Miles also represents clients facing investigations and government enforcement actions and is routinely tapped to perform internal political law audits for clients and counsel them on recommendations based on the audit findings. She regularly presents on political law issues and best practices to in-house counsel trade associations and other large membership organizations.
