Emily M Lam

Co-head of Skadden's Global Tax Group, Emily Lam advises clients on a broad range of tax controversy matters focusing on audits and appeals, and creative resolution of tax disputes. Drawing on her prior experience at the Treasury Department and more than two decades of practice, Ms. Lam provides sophisticated tax counseling on high stakes and complex matters. Clients turn to her to handle sensitive tax issues involving all phases of interaction with the IRS and Treasury, including matters in IRS Examinations and Appeals, private letter rulings and pre-filing agreements, voluntary disclosure submissions, closing agreements and requests for published guidance. Ms. Lam also advises tax-exempt organizations and counsels on charitable giving issues.
