Martín Pesce is a leading data protection and new technologies practitioner in Uruguay and a recognized regional reference in privacy across Latin America. He heads the FERRERE new technologies and data protection team.

He regularly advises major multinational corporations — including Equifax, Uber, IBM, Scotiabank, Meta, Diageo and Microsoft — on data privacy, intellectual property, and artificial intelligence regulatory matters. He has been appointed by several multinational corporations as Data Protection Officer (DPO) to represent them vis-à-vis Uruguay’s Personal Data Authority.

He is chair for Uruguay of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and serves as the Uruguayan representative to the Latin American Privacy Association (ALAP), consolidating his role as a key voice in the region’s data protection and new technologies landscape.

He is the author of numerous specialized articles on data protection, AI governance, and technology law for national and international publications, and is a regular contributor to IAPP, ItechLaw, DataGuidance and Bloomberg Law.

He teaches Information Technology Law I and II and Artificial Intelligence & Law at the Law School of Universidad de la República.

He is a frequent speaker at international conferences on data protection, artificial intelligence regulation, and telecommunications law.
