Mario Ortu graduated in law at the University of Padua, with the highest marks (J.D., 1985). After his traineeship at the law firm of Prof. Miele, he joined the law firm Pavia e Ansaldo, where he became partner in 1995. Between 1999 and 2012 he was a partner at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where he led the Italian corporate department and, more recently, was appointed as member of the Firmwide Leadership Team of the FIG Sector Group. As of 1 January 2013 Mario and his group joined Orsingher Avvocati Associati, that became Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati.
