Career

María Eugenia is a member of the FERRERE Intellectual Property team, where her practice focuses on advice to local and foreign clients on protection of intangible assets with special focus on new technologies.

Her work includes assisting clients on trademark, patent and software registration processes, as well as administrative defense in the event of challenges and appeals.

She provides advice on transfers, mergers and licenses for intangible assets, and has specific training in Computer Program Licensing, including Open-Source Software (World Intellectual Property Organization – WIPO 2022).

She has been a member of legal due diligence teams in charge of assessment, analysis and detection of contingencies, specifically on Intellectual Property aspects.

Her prior experience includes activity as associate attorney with the First Administrative Claims Court (Venezuela), a pluri-member court with national jurisdiction on litigious administrative matters in that country, as well as advising on administrative and regulatory matters for diverse public and private entities in her native country.
