Margaret Weltrowska is co-leader of the national Class action group and leads the Litigation and Dispute Resolution group in Dentons’ Montréal office. With over 20 years of experience, her practice focuses on commercial and civil litigation, class action, franchising and product liability. Her expertise has been recognized by numerous directories such as Lexpert, Legal 500, Benchmark Litigation, as well as Best Lawyer which named her one of Canada’s leading lawyers in Corporate and Commercial Litigation Law (2021) and "Lawyer of the Year" for Franchise Law (2022).
Margaret advises a broad range of clients in the advertising, consumer protection and e-commerce sectors, providing counsel on promotional and branding issues, online marketing and sale, as well as regulated consumer products and services. She is often retained to advise clients on compliance issues pertaining to the Québec Charter of the French Language (Bill 101).
An experienced class action litigator, Margaret also boasts a strong franchising litigation practice. Her diverse clients hail from a range of industries, including automotive, retail, hospitality and cosmetics.
Through the years, Margaret has represented clients before the Québec Superior Court, the Québec Court of Appeal, the Federal Court, and various administrative and arbitral tribunals, and regularly participates in important commercial arbitrations.
