Marcelo Alarcón is a Partner in Dentons Chile’s Litigation and Arbitration group. His practice focuses on civil and commercial disputes, administrative litigation, and infrastructure and energy projects, acting in both domestic and international litigation and arbitration proceedings.
He represents companies in matters involving contractual and tort liability, construction, real estate, energy, insolvency, restructuring, and consumer protection, among other areas.
Marcelo acts both as counsel and as an arbitrator. He is a member of the CAM Santiago Young Arbitrators Roster, where he serves as Chair of the Young Arbitrators Executive Committee (AJ CAM), and is included on the lists of arbitrators of the Santiago, San Miguel, and Valparaíso Courts of Appeal.
He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses at leading Chilean universities. He is currently a Professor of Civil Procedure at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez and a lecturer in the Master of Civil Procedure program at Universidad de los Andes.
Marcelo holds a law degree from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez and an LL.M. in Dispute Resolution from The University of Melbourne. He has been recognized by Chambers and Partners, The Legal 500, Leaders League, and Best Lawyers.
