Practice Areas
Julian's practice spans public law, technology/media/information law, inquests and inquiries and a wide range of related fields. He is a member of the Attorney General’s ‘A’ List of Counsel. He has appeared in several Supreme Court cases (including the leading cases on detention in Afghanistan and Iraq, and the resettlement of the Chagos Islanders) and the most high-profile of inquiries (including Grenfell Tower, Post Office and Covid-19 Inquires). In the tech/media/information law field, Julian has acted in highly publicised data breach cases, as well as appearing in connection with US proceedings relating to the publication of the Trump dossier. Julian also appears in foreign law matters, including letters of request.

Julian graduated from Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge before being appointed as a Fox International Fellow at Yale University. He is a former Editor of Varsity.
