Practice Areas
Aileen’s practice covers all areas of public law including human rights law as well as employment, education, election and information law. Recent cases include the defence of Tate Modern’s viewing platform against Article 8/ nuisance claims and an intervention for Index on Censorship in the Forstater case. She is particularly interested in work relating to discrimination/ equality, higher education, human rights(particularly freedom of expression) and political parties. Aileen has extensive experience in investigations including in the financial services sector, higher education, media organisations and local government. She is Honorary Legal counsel to the IPPF.
Career
Aileen came to the bar in 2001 having been appointed Professor of Human Rights Law at King’s College London, where she maintained a role until 2019. She took silk in 2020.
