Recent notable cases include R (RF) v Secretary of State for Work and Pensions [2018] PTSR 1147 (disability discrimination for those with mental health difficulties under PIP); Mazhar v Lord Chancellor [2018] 2 WLR 1304 (judicial immunity and declarations under the Human Rights Act); Ocean Outdoor v LB of Hammersmith and Fulham (first case under the Concession Contracts Regulations); R (Ferreira) v HM Senior Coroner for Inner South London [2018] QB 487 (deprivation of liberty in a hospital setting); Briggs v Briggs [2018] 2 WLR 1304 (scope of Court’s powers under section 21A of Mental Capacity Act 2005) and R (Proteus and Samarkand Film Partnership) v HMRC [2017] EWCA Civ 77 (whether legitimate expectation could claim £millions in film tax reliefs).
