Specialises in all aspects of public law (commercial, regulatory, education, community care, mental health, local government, coroners, and planning and environmental law) human rights, public procurement, village greens, public inquiries, inquests and information law. He practises in English, European and Commonwealth courts acting for individuals, public authorities, commercial organisations and NGOs. Notable cases include: Farley v Equiniti (data breach class action in the Court of Appeal), R (Worcestershire CC) v Secretary of State for Local Government (mental health aftercare in the Supreme Court), R (Bridges) v South Wales Police (Article 8 ECHR and GDPR and automatic face recognition technology in the Court of Appeal), T W Logistics v Essex County Council (village greens in the Supreme Court), MacDonald v UK (Private life and community care in ECHR), Kennedy v Charity Commission (freedom of information and Article 10 ECHR in the Supreme Court) and R (Plantagenet Alliance) v Secretary of State for Justice and Leicester City Council (challenge to the decision to bury Richard III’s remains in Leicester).
