Joe is a first-chair trial attorney who resolves his clients’ most difficult and complex disputes, ranging from $1 million to more than $5 billion in contract value.
Joe has dedicated his practice exclusively to the construction and manufacturing industries for 20 years. He represents owners, EPC contractors, construction managers, general contractors, and subcontractors in disputes on a wide array of construction projects, including power plants, mass transit systems, highways, high-voltage electric transmission lines, pipelines, and heavy industrial and commercial construction projects. Joe has represented some of the largest project owners and contractors throughout the U.S. In addition to representing domestic clients, Joe frequently represents businesses entering the U.S. market from other countries.
Clients call on Joe to help resolve their most difficult and complex disputes, benefiting from his dedication and experience. He has handled disputes in federal and state court, Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals, the Civilian Board of Contract Appeals, the Federal Court of Claims, the Commonwealth Board of Claims, and in domestic and international arbitration. In addition to litigation, he advises clients throughout the life cycle of a construction project to avoid disputes and maximize recoveries.
Joe is the managing partner of the firm’s Philadelphia office. He frequently lectures and writes on construction-related topics, including handling discovery of electronically stored information in litigation, termination of construction contracts, delay and disruption claims, liability of design professionals, and mechanics’ liens.
