Jonathan Goldstein heads the Global Transportation Practice at Baker Botts.
Mr. Goldstein structures complex transactions that have earned awards recognized as pivotal in reopening the bank and capital markets following the financial crisis. His practice spans the aviation, rail, shipping, and auto industries, advising sponsors, lenders, hedge funds, commercial banks, airlines, and leasing companies on a wide range of matters. These include simple and complex asset-backed securitizations; offerings of enhanced equipment trust certificates; secured and unsecured public securities offerings; secured and unsecured private securities placements; mergers and acquisitions; joint ventures; structured financings; syndications; pre-delivery payment and warehouse facilities; secured and unsecured lending; simple and complex bank loans; sale/lease transactions; and bankruptcy workouts. Jonathan also regularly advises clients on various DOT and FAA regulatory issues.
He has worked on several of the most significant ABS, leveraged lease, EETC, and secured financings involving aircraft and railcars, including many transactions that have won “Deal of the Year” awards from industry publications. Mr. Goldstein has also represented banks, airlines, and leasing companies in prominent and important roles in M&A transactions and restructurings. More recently, Jonathan has been involved in structuring transactions relating to the acquisition and development of aircraft that will make use of electric and other sustainable fuel equipment.
