Linda Martin

Linda Martin is a nationally recognized litigator with extensive experience resolving complex, strategic, and high-stake disputes across a wide range of industries and practice areas. She has a proven track record of successfully representing her clients in cases involving breach of contract, allegations of fraud, complicated financial transactions, class action defense, broken deals / business divorces, and other post-M&A and deal-related litigation. Her clients include public and private companies, financial institutions, private equity firms, and hedge funds.

While Linda is known as a go-to litigator and zealous advocate, she is consistently focused on providing her clients with practical, results-oriented advice that keeps their business needs front of mind. As a result, she has become a trusted business advisor to senior executives and business teams around the globe as they work through their most challenging legal issues.

Linda is a partner in Baker Botts’ litigation group in New York, where she assists clients in a broad array of contexts, including in federal and state trial and appellate courts, and before international and domestic arbitral tribunals. She also represents creditors and debtors in bankruptcy proceedings, including in adversary proceedings and contested matters. She is experienced in all stages of litigation, from initial investigations to trial, and has tried cases to verdict before juries, judges and arbitration panels.

Linda’s clients are global in scope, and she is particularly adept at helping them navigate multinational challenges, especially those arising from the overlapping and sometimes conflicting procedural, factual and regulatory regimes in which they operate. She also works frequently with her transactional and finance colleagues in advising corporate executives and boards on transaction-related litigation risk and corporate governance matters.

Linda earned her JD, cum laude, from Duke University School of Law, where she was an editor of the Duke Law Journal. She received her BA, cum laude, from Harvard University.
