Jan has been a lawyer in government practice for over 25 years. He is a true administrative law litigator. Jan assists governments, companies and institutions in administrative law cases on various subjects. A passionate lawyer who knows how to make connections between different areas of law, is authoritative and very experienced.
Jan's practice is built on professional quality, strategic insight and personal attention to all his clients. Jan has a particular focus on:

Jan enjoys litigation on the cutting edge but with respect for the opponent and without unnecessary escalation of the dispute.
In addition to being a lawyer, Jan teaches government liability at Leiden University. He writes in legal journals and is one of the authors of “Tekst en Commentaar Wet open overheid” (text and commentary on the Open Government Act). Jan was for many years chairman of the Objections Committee of the municipality of Leiden and deputy judge in the District Court of Gelderland. He is a member of the Legal Status Advisory Committee of the Dutch Bar Association.
