Career

Guillermo is a capital markets and finance lawyer through and through.

Guillermo advises some of the largest and finest companies in Mexico and participates in the most relevant and innovative transactions. On the bank side, he represents all the first-tier banks doing business in the country. He is also recognized as a Mexican leader in Sustainable Finance and is a part of the ESG team at the Firm.

Guillermo is passionate about cultural expression and diversity issues. As part of his Pro Bono efforts, he works with Alondra de la Parra in projects for the promotion of Mexican music.

He is innately a teacher, both within the office and in academic circles. He always mentors young lawyers through the mentoring programs at Galicia and Abogadas MX. He lectures at Escuela Libre de Derecho and Universidad Panamericana and regularly publishes banking and finance articles.

Guillermo obtained his Law Degree from Escuela Libre de Derecho in Mexico City, and a few years later, his LL.M. from Duke University School of Law.

He spent a year as a foreign associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York City, where he developed several other skills.
