Carlos is one of Mexico’s leading corporate M&A and capital markets lawyers. He has more than 25 years of experience representing clients in complex and ground-breaking transactions in Mexico.
Within his mergers & acquisitions practice, he represents private equity and specialized sector funds, as well as strategic investors, in the purchase of private businesses and assets within a wide range of economic sectors, including pharmaceutical, media, finance, food services, education, and others.
His capital markets and fundraising expertise has led him to represent issuers, underwriters, managers and others in public and private debt, equity, and quasi-equity offerings, including corporate bonds, government notes, CKDs, CERPIs and FIBRAS. He has been particularly active in advising on sophisticated securitization and asset-backed structures involving different types of assets, including auto and equipment loans and leases, airline receivables, mortgage loans and infrastructure assets, among others.
Carlos gained international expertise as a foreign associate at Sullivan & Cromwell in New York. He acted as Board Member of the Mexican Private Equity Association.
