Career

Filipe Cunha joined Bichara Advogados as a partner in the Corporate area to boost the Mining practice of the firm in January 2023, aggregating further expertise into the team.

Filipe advises companies, banks, investors, and other mining industry players with international transactions and local issues arising from mining projects. He has extensive experience in dealing with various legal issues in the mining sector, particularly in the corporate, contractual, regulatory, and environmental fields. Moreover, he has experience in financing, sale, and acquisition of businesses, strategic litigation, relationship with public stakeholders (such as the Public Prosecutor´s Office and government bodies), engagement with local communities, and contract negotiation. He also advises mining clients on the legislative process, political scenario, stakeholder engagement, and the impacts of public policies on specific projects and the business environment.

Besides writing the introduction for the Global Practice Guide of Mining 2022 of Chambers and Partners, Filipe has written articles on his expertise theme, Mining Law.
