Professional Memberships

Jorge is a professor in the LL.M. in Labor Law, “Labor Law: A Multidisciplinary and Strategic View,” and Insper's Live Learning in Labor Law courses. He has also been an assistant professor in undergraduate and graduate classes at FADUSP since 2010, together with Professor Masato Ninomiya, a guest professor in FGV's graduate courses in administration and finance, and a labor consultant to the Federal Council of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB).

Jorge was a member of the OAB/SP Special Commission on International Labor Law, a member of the OAB Federal Council's National Commission on Social Rights, a member of the Cesarino Júnior Labor Law Institute, and a member of the OAB/SP Special Commission on Union Law.

Publications

He is the author and co-author of articles published in the press that address important issues in the labor area, such as pejotização, the new NR-1, and new policies on social media.

Experience

Mr. Matsumoto has extensive experience in labor consulting and litigation, representing and advising clients in the education, information technology, retail, energy, and agricultural sectors, mainly in cases involving labor reform in the Superior Labor Court (TST) and the Federal Supreme Court (STF).

He has worked on high-profile cases with clients JBS and HIG Brasil.

Work Highlights

Under his leadership, the Labor Law area has important transactions in the past few years, including:

- Mr. Matsumoto led a case related to an internal audit related to the compliance procedures of an important company of technology and electronics. The purpose of this audit is to ensure compliance with Brazilians ‘procedures, including internal policies, protocols, contracts, and terms as well as compliance channel.
