Faiz Ahmad is head of Skadden's Wilmington office. He focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions and Delaware corporate and alternative entity law, advising public and private companies, private equity sponsors and alternative asset managers in significant U.S. and cross-border transactions.
Mr. Ahmad works extensively on the structuring and formation of limited liability companies and other alternative entities for use in private equity transactions, joint ventures and other complex business arrangements. He also advises boards of directors and special committees on fiduciary duties and governance matters in connection with M&A transactions.
Mr. Ahmad is a member of the Corporation Law Council of the Delaware State Bar Association and its Alternative Entity Subcommittee, participating in the annual review of and preparation of amendments to Delaware's alternative entity statutes. He is a former member of Skadden's governing body and has advised on numerous transactions exceeding $1 billion. He has served in leadership positions with the South Asian Bar Association of North America, including as president of its Delaware chapter, and is a fellow of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity. From 2009–10, he served as counsel to Acumen Fund, a global patient capital impact investing fund.
