Eszter Zádori is a partner in Dentons’ Budapest office and a member of the Energy practice. She specializes in energy law, with a focus on the natural gas and electricity industry. Eszter also represents clients in general corporate and commercial matters, as well as in commercial arbitration cases and M&A transactions.

With her 20 years of experience in the energy sector, Eszter has advised a number of major stakeholders on a wide range of matters and transactions, including the TSO in gas and electricity, natural gas producers, natural gas and electricity trading and sales companies, LPG distributers, as well as conventional and renewable power generation companies. Her expertise in the energy sector extends from advising on complex commercial, M&A and arbitration matters to providing guidance to clients on regulatory and compliance issues.

Eszter has been an active member of the Legal and Regulatory Committee of the Hungarian Energy Traders’ Association since its foundation in 2012. Prior to joining Dentons, Eszter worked for several international and local law firms and as in-house legal counsel for the Hungarian subsidiary of an international private energy company.

Work Highlights

- A Hungarian Ministry: Advising on various complex regulatory matters of the Hungarian renewable sector and their subsidy schemes in view of the implementation of the EU’s Clean Energy Package.

- One of the largest European energetic companies: Advising on energy efficiency projects and initiatives, including the elaboration of service contracts on capacity booking optimization and replacement of ampermeters.

- One of the world’s largest energy groups: Advising on e-mobility projects in Hungary including regulatory and public procurements aspects for charging stations.

- One of the biggest European providers of photovoltaic power plants: Advising in connection with the first and second METÁR (that is Hungary’s currently available renewable support scheme) auction including the preparation and the submission of the tender proposal to the Hungarian Energy and Public Utility Regulatory Authority on behalf of the applicant.

- Hungarian subsidiary of a leading Netherlands-based oil and gas producer: Advising on a wide range of matters, including gas sales contracts, regulatory issues, as well as financing matters relating to their bond issuance and listing of the company under the National Bank of Hungary’s Bond for Growth Programme.

- An international player in the renewable energy sector: Advising in connection with a complete overview of the current and applicable legal framework under which the development of photovoltaic power plant development projects are framed in Hungary.

- A global leader in the solar industry: Advising on its acquisition of a solar project located in Hungary.
